Maybe you should check the archives of this list or have a look at the 
redhat web site, as your comments seem a little ill-informed.

In particular, this page http://www.redhat.com/software/whichproduct/ 
explains the differences. There IS a free distribution - it's call Fedora.

Also the $1499/server you quote is one of the higher-end options - 
Enterprise versions start at $179...
