I'm another who'll be moving on, by the looks of things. Because downloads
are very expensive for me (downloading Knoppix and K12LTSP a few months ago
added $A500 to my ADSL bill - it's a long story) boxed set availability is
important. My own personal systems and those of some of my clients
(schools, etc) don't justify moving to the Enterprise-level product, so
I'll be forced to consider replacing them with SuSE. I already have clients
using SLES 8 on the mainframe anyway, so . . .
Alternatively, I might roll my own system maintenance scripts on something
like Debian. . .
It's a shame that Red Hat is overlooking the synergy between the low-end
retail boxed sets, where many of their supporters started, and the
Enterprise stuff where they think the money is. They're weakening their own
brand severely, if you'll forgive the marketing-speak. . .
