OK, but I just tried to install 3.0.6 and:
$ rpm -qa | grep "glibc-"
glibc-devel-2.1.3-21
glibc-2.1.3-21
$ sudo rpm -Fvh rpm-*3.0.6-6x.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
glibc >= 2.1.3 conflicts with rpm-3.0.6-6x
Urk! So what's our path here, for 6.x boxes where we're staying current
with the security errata (i.e., installing 2.1.3) -- stick with 3.0.5?
