RE: /etc config files

The registry is a purely windows concept linux is all in files ....
create a file "my app".conf in /etc/"my app"/
u can use my app.conf or myapprc
if u want the file to be hidden put a dot(.) in front of it ... 

in linux the extension doesn't matter actually ...

Rpm's are like girls u don't find out about the dependencies unless u try to
install it.
