Time to step up, I guess.
A few weeks ago, I was in an offlist discussion with the
maintainer of the RPM.ORG website -- who was snowed in with
work. I indicated that I was willing to undertake that duty
and freshen some stale content on the site.
I have a punchlist of itmes for site maintenance which the
staff at the COLO facility have been good enough to install,
but it is not quite there yet. I set an internal date for
this announcement of 1/1/2002 -- but a couple days early won't
hurt <much> I have to be at a LUG meeting in 25 minutes, and
so cannot take the time to add that list there.
And indeed wouldn't anyway (see next paragraphs of this
message).
-------------------------------------------------
I just set up a MailMan driven mailing list at:
rpm-ed@colug.net -- on a host I maintain for a LUG in Central
OH with which I am affiliated. see:
http://www.colug.net/mailman/listinfo/rpm-ed
for self-subscription management.
The purpose of that list it to keep EDITORIAL discussion on
website ideas OFF this list, and where it will (may?) do some
good.
Similarly, the rpm-ed list will ONLY deal with webpage
editorial issues -- technical RPM advise should properly
remail HERE.
If you have ideas on how to make a better http://www.rpm.org/
, please consider signing up there.
