Build fails in 4.0.2

Hi all,

When I try and build from a spec file using

rpm -bp specfile

rpm just prints out the usage statement. If I change to a filename that I know does not exist the same thing happens. It's as if the command is ignored. This used to work in 3.0.3. Other commands like --help, --version -qa work.

Some history.

Needed to install a package which required rpm v4. I downloaded rpm 4.0.2 from rpm.org and it needed db3 and popt which I also downloaded. Installation went on OK. I _didn't_ read the RH errata on this until discovering the problem. However, when I rebuild the db there are no errors and rpm -qa | fgrep rpm reports 4.0.2 as I would expect. System is a standard RH6.2 install apart from these changes.

Since the update appeared to work I've since deleted the old database files :(

Anybody got any clues?
