These are packages for Red Hat 7.x wich uses rpm-4.0. Try the *6x* packages,
they should be in version 3 packaging understood by rpm-3.0.4.

Yup, the "fix" is called rpm-4.0.2, although rpm-3.0.5 and later also "works".
