Bingo!  You hit the nail on the head.  Forgot about "Source:" at the top.
So, next question:
 
  Why is it trying to mess with the file in "Source:" tag?

I've defined my own "%clean".  And requested "AutoReqPriv: no" (although
this is being totally ignored).
