Hey, before you go, let me give you a message:

Any interest in unifying the FreeBSD packager with rpm? I've always admired
Jordan's packaging white paper from afar: sensible, sane, and simple. There's
also ports and CVSup, again very simple to generate packages from ports
tarballs and/or CVSup. Kinda rpm packaging lite, if you catch my drift ...

It also wouldn't be all that hard to add supoort for zip payloads to rpm
(I volunteer :-), and generate a header on-the-fly from the zip comments
used to supply package dependency markup for FreeBSD.

Lemme know if FreeBSD folks are so inclined ...
