Probably TOO simple.....

Dear All,

Thanks for the info over the last few days regarding .spec files.
I am still having no luck.
I thought one of you rpm gurus out there may be able to put together
an rpm.spec file for me!

This would be for a binary only rpm and simply be put onto a cd
for shipping with Redhat 6.1.
That is I put the rpm in the RPM dir on the redhat cd image.
Run genhdlist and alter the base dir accordingly.
Then rebuild the iso cd image.
That is, we will end up with a bootable cd that auto installs our rpm.
Sounds good but can I get the rpm to work, Im afraid not...

Our main product files (more than 800 files) sit inside a tar ball called
target.tgz which is in /usr/product/genos-extra
There is an /etc/rc.d/init.d script called genos-boot to carry out the untar
amongst other things
on the first ever boot subsequent to install
There is also a dummy file checked by genos-boot called genos-initial-boot
that exists for the first ever boot and is
the removed by genos-boot. (so that the untar is not run on subsequent
reboots etc). This sits in /usr/product/genos-extra.
So thats for files, x2 files in /usr/product/genos-extra and 1 in
/etc/rc.d/init.d
Really simple.
I also need to run a chkconfig on genos-boot so that it is run when the box
finishes installing and reboots
I would imagine the spec file for just such actions would be no more than a
couple of lines but can I
get it to work..... not a hope!
It keeps complaining about files not found.

There is no building to done from source as all the binaries exist in the
tarball
having been prebuilt in our local environment.

All I need the spec file to do is copy the 3 files onto the host file system
and run chkconfig!

I might be able to sort out some Red-m freebies if someone can help!

Thanks,
Matt
