db_dump of Packages hangs

Hello all.

I have Red Hat 7.1 with RPM version 4.0.2.

May be one of you can help me, i was trying to update some packages with KPackage when segfaulted.

to make it short, i landed on Bugzilla Bug 38454, the one about RPM database corruption on /var/lib/rpm/Packages and had the rpm -qa segfault listed there.

I followed the steps until the db_dump Packages.old | db_load Packages thing ...

And i froze on the spot.
db_dump hangs and dont know where to go ...
i tried to dump to the console to see what it does.

Absolutely nothing.  i see its working (sort of) and leaved it alone for two hours until decided to do something about it.

I can install and remove packages, except some of them (SEGFAULT) so i presume is a corrupted header.

Any hints ?
