Re: rpm doesn't recognize that apache installed

Hi Lamar

Thanks for your help :)

Install apache via RPM.

I tried doing a rpm install of apache and there were some errors: error: failed dependencies: /usr/bin/getgid is needed by apache-2.0.39-0.2 /bin/id is needed by apache-2.0.39-0.2 rc-scripts is needed by apache-2.0.39-0.2 apr is needed by apache-2.0.39-0.2 db4 is needed by apache-2.0.39-0.2 libapr.so.0 is needed by apache-2.0.39-0.2 libcrypto.so.0.9.6.1 is needed by apache-2.0.39-0.2 libdb-4.0.so is needed by apache-2.0.39-0.2 libssl.so.0.9.6.1 is needed by apache-2.0.39-0.2

That's why i installed via the source. DO you have any suggestions as to what i should do to over come this?

See /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES and /usr/src/redhat/SPECS. --

Can i uses the source files here to do an install, or is that the same as installing apache from the zipped source files from the apache site?

Thanka again, I really appreciate the help

Desmond
