Oh, I see. That's not exactly what I had in mind. Indeed, that's exactly
how apt-rpm works right now: there's a file named /etc/apt/rpmpriorities
with that information. Unfortunately, that doesn't give a chance for
third party packagers to provide a priority for their supported packages.
OTOH, if I had to choose between that or nothing, I'd be glad if you
provided such functionality. That would give rpm a chance to actually
show that information in an i.e. rpm -qi, and also.. some kind of
expertise could be added to avoid dumb users removing their
kernel/essential packages.
