I'm not an "insider", I just use google. I haven't found anything
that describes how to generate %files except as "a manual process is
creating the file list" as described in Maximum RPM. Here are more

Is there an RPM documentation project? I'd be happy to contribute a
paragraph or two which would expand on "get %build to install in
$RPM_BUILD_ROOT, and use find to generate %files, %doc, and %config".
