clean.)  The reason for -bp, -bc, and -bi is to allow the -ba procedure
to be broken into smaller steps in case of troubles like yours.

Yes, I can see how this would help narrow it down...

In my case it looks like it dies very early in this step, since there is no other information appended to the log besides the error message that we've seen before.. if I look in the BUILD tree, there are no files there..
