whoops, sorry, i worded that badly. i'm running RH 9, and am testing
it with the latest 2.5.66-bk12 kernel. along with others, i've had
a locking problem running rpm as root doing even simple things like
querying a package.
the current solution to that is to run the command with
"LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5". i interpreted the last few emails
on this list to suggest that there was a solution to this
problem with a newer version of rpm. sorry if i misunderstood.
