This has been discussed somewhat on the openssh-unix-dev@mindrot.org
mailing list, but was never really (to my knowledge) resolved:
http://msgs.securepoint.com/cgi-bin/get/openssh-unix-dev-0206/315.html
Anyone know what would happen if sshd were to close a file descriptor
belonging to a dynamically linked library (e.g., libc)?
: (ok; the right way would be to convince sshd people to add a
: '--operate-normally-but-do-not-go-into-background' option).
You mean like this one?
-D When this option is specified sshd will not detach and does not
become a daemon. This allows easy monitoring of sshd.
