Why? Defattr *is* the way you do that!

Not exactly. I am using rpm under the cygwin environment for building linux packages. Under cygwin there are no root users and groups and permissions are set in windows way.


Normally I would use %defattr, but I am a developer. However there will be people using the tool who are not that efficient in all RPM tricks.
