I don't think I'm confusing them, I'm complaining that the lore on
makefiles is forcing me to confuse them. If it were up to me, I'd have 4
neat steps:
1) build
2) package
3) install
4) configure
But this is not the way the world works, and I cannot change it. I do
wished, though, that rpm wouldn't force me to continue the confusion.
I realize that this is not really rpm's fault, but the fault of the
software that is to be packaged itself and an OS that makes writing truely
position independent applications extremely hard.
