Sanity: UML is linux kernel and that's what you want -debuginfo packages
for?

There have been several problems with generating -debuginfo kernel packages.

You need (at least) the following:
elfutils-0.84 or later (from severn or rawhide)
    scripts/find-debuginfo.sh (from rpm-4.2.1 sources)
    tools/debugedit.c (from rpm-4.2.1 sources)
the spec file changes necessary to create -debuginfo (from Red Hat
Enterprise Taroon kernel).

You might upgrade to rpm-4.2.1-0.30 or later as well as upgrading to
elfutils-0.84.
