rpm for Tru64

I've been using the rpm (version 3.0.?) that Compaq/HP 
made available for Tru64. I'd like to upgrade to a
newer version, but have had a hard time compiling
from source. I've tried 4.0.{4,5} and 4.1 and 4.2.
All fail with various errors. 

Is anyone using 4.? with Tru64? If so, do you have
patches to make it build? If not, and I were to 
give a shot at making a patch for building on
Tru64, which version would I stand the best chance
with?
