Rpm sizes

Hi!

I´m a relative newbie in building RPMS. When i rebuilding official 
distribution rpms (with original spec file) every now and then the result is 
a rpm with a much bigger size than the original. Why is that? Have absolutely 
no idea why the rpms are bigger. Can someone give me a brief explanation of 
what to do. Have a RH9 system with stock redhat rpm-version.
