How absurd.  What is silly about trying to solve a problem or learn 
something?  I've already seen the post regarding rpm 
requirements/dependencies vrs. distro fingerprinting and, yes, I agree 
with it also.   I'm still curious though as a distro fingerprinting 
technique might come in handy someday.
