src rpm woes

hi,
i am trying to chagne the default prefix on FC2 but having not luck
I tried so far as root

editing redhat/macros
editing i386***/macros
editing i686****/macros 
(all those in /usr/lib/rpm)

adding  some command line options

 rpmbuild -bb --define 'prefix=/usr/local/pg8' postgresql-8.0.0beta1-3PGDG.spec
 rpmbuild -bb --prefix=/usr/local/pg8 postgresql-8.0.0beta1-3PGDG.spec
 rpmbuild -bb postgresql-8.0.0beta1-3PGDG.spec --prefix=/usr/local/pg8
rpmbuild -bb postgresql-8.0.0beta1-3PGDG.spec --define 'prefix /usr/local/pg8'


editing the spec file itself

 defining %prefix in the spec file
 adding a prefix specification tosomewhere in the spec file

is there a place i did not look where this macro is placed?

(there is no configure command inthe spec file, but the configure line generated includes --prefix = --exec-prefix --A
