problem adding packages to RH 8.

Apologies if the answer to this is well known - I've just subscribed to this list.
I'm trying to add the X develpment support package to my RH8 installation using the package manager. I get an error message telling me I have to add XFree-libs-4.2.0 before I can continue, yet I have 4.2.1-21 installed, per "rpm -q XFree-libs".

The package manager has no options, so I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.

Any clues, please ?
