I don't even know where to begin, really.
From your question I'm guessing you're not even aware of what a bash 
script it,
well here are some things I would do when I was in your shoes.
First find out if it's possible to install the package from source , by 
that I mean am I able to download the source and install it from the 
downloaded package instead of installing it from a script.
If so then you should start by reading Maximum rpm,
if not then you should start by reading Maximum rpm, and learn bash 
script to figure out how the script works.
