Could this be causing the problem? If I take out the --nodeps flag, I get
this errors:
smpd328:/home/u752359# rpm --install apache-instance-ohdev04-1-1.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
/bin/bash is needed by apache-instance-ohdev04-1-1
/bin/ksh is needed by apache-instance-ohdev04-1-1
/bin/sh is needed by apache-instance-ohdev04-1-1
/bin/sh is needed by apache-instance-ohdev04-1-1
/bin/sh is needed by apache-instance-ohdev04-1-1
/bin/sh is needed by apache-instance-ohdev04-1-1
However I do have all those shells installed (although they're installed as
part of the Solaris OS, not with rpms):
# ls -l /bin/bash /bin/ksh /bin/sh
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root bin 516392 Jan 5 2000 /bin/bash
-r-xr-xr-x 3 root bin 209136 Apr 29 2003 /bin/ksh
-r-xr-xr-x 4 root root 95316 Nov 6 2002 /bin/sh
I've tried using /etc/rpmrc, setting the provides: /bin/sh etc. but that
just seems to do the same as --nodeps.
