HELP | RPM install

Hi

 

I had written to to RPM list once regarding the same problem,but i didnt get any reply yet.Someone please help me out as this is really bugging my head....

 

The problem is :

 

I have to build an RPM that will copy some files to a target location. Now while building the RPM,i do not know the target locations.When i install the RPM,the binary RPM should read some property file and get the target location,where the files needs to be copied.This should happen as a pre-install step and at my install section, the files will be copied to that target location specified in that property file.

 

So,in a nut shell, i want to create a generaic RPM,that will pick up the install location from some property file during pre install,and install the files at that location during installation.

 

Hope i have made myself clear enough.
