Thanks.  That will allow me to get rid of my ~/.rpmmacros file, which will
simplify our package building procedure.  I only have a couple of variables in
the ~/.rpmmacros (_topdir and myversion), and --define worked for both of them,
even without the ~/.rpmmacros file.
