How to add an entry in the rpm database (without a package on hand)

Hi All,

 

As the subject says, I’d like to add an entry into the rpm database without actually having that package on hand. I’m looking for tips on how to do this.

(this isn’t a install/update case where –nodeps would do, there’s some software looking for an entry in the rpm db)
