dreaming of a FAQ

The recent series of questions are pretty typical for
someone who writes installers for Windows trying to
port to Linux. 

There really ought to be a nice consensus FAQ to
answer questions such as these.

I'd be happy to give up some CFT to contribute to such
a thing, but where is the right place for it? rpm.org?
