The point is the same as double booking accounting, one saves
a reference copy just in case the data on, say, the file system
changes for some reason.

Of course FSCONTEXT is pointless when /usr is READONLY mounted
and etched on geological materials. SELinux is not, however, on a geological
time scale so far.
