For reasons that escape me, RH forgot to turn it on in the XFree86
config.
[summer possum summer]$ grep -iw5 dpms /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Monitor Vendor"
ModelName "Monitor Model"
HorizSync 31.0-65.0
VertRefresh 50.0-120.0
Option "DPMS"
# -- 1400x1050 --
# 1400x1050 @ 60Hz, 65.8 kHz hsync
Modeline "1400x1050" 129 1400 1464 1656 1960
1050 1051 1054 1100 +HSync +VSync
[summer possum summer]$
Add the "Option DMPS" in your monitor's description and all should be
fine.
