You could install both and have all of a drive for each. If you decide
to go that route you can do almost 100% of the change in linux. I know
this because I did it once, and I also made replicas of partitions for a
machine that was networked via samba and put the copies on my own
machine, then booted 'Doze and fixed the different hardware issues that
I had doing it that way, issues you shouldn't face. The hardest part
would be getting linux going. That can even be done with your current
setup as long as some thought is put into it beforehand.
I'm leaving for work real soon. If someone hasn't gone into detail by

Likely someone else will jump in when you state which way you'd like to
go.
