It's best to have each disk as a master and no slave for
best performance.

Get a SCSI CDR instead. Possibly even get SCSI disks.

My 300W PS handles my 3 disks and CD fine. This is a Athlon
T-bird 800 (SlotA) which uses a LOT more power
than a P166. So it should be fine for you.
I have 2x10G drives with SWRAID (md.o) on my Athlon system.
I have them as Masters on the builtin controller (hda and hdc)
I also have 4G on hdb and a CDROM on hdd.
This is a little faster than when the 10G disks were hda and hdb.
For what you want, I'd buy a addin IDE card.
Don't was money on the "RAID" cards, since most of them
don't work in RAID mode w/ linux and the md.0 RAID
driver is faster too.
