Correct.  I just discussed this very topic with Alan Cox.  The
Promise Fasttrak is basically software RAID implemented in BIOS.
This allows RAID to work in OS's that do not natively support it
because the hardware aparently is handling it, but really it is
just firmware.  The Ultra66 card is IMHO the best buy.  Ultra100
I do not think will give better performance with one drive per
channel because no drive can do 66 anyway...
