Re: Printing suppressed

Suddenly, my Seawolf platform cannot send a signal to the parallel port (/dev/lp0). My printer used to work fine locally from my Linux machine. Now it only prints from a Windows 98 machine.

I tried through the 'printtool', and directly with
lpr and cat. Everything appears to be correctly
done by the OS, but the printer does not print
anything, not even garbage. lpq informs that the
spool is empty, printtool in test mode informs that
the print daemon was restarted and that a file has
been sent to the printer, but nothing is actually
printed. It is very frustrating.

Did you make sure that you set it to the correct driver? Did you check the Parallel port setting in the BIOS? Did you update any rpms recently (especially LPRng)?
