/dev/cdrom is linked to... what device?
Similarly, scsi device 0,2,0 is scd0 or scd1?
I apologize, but since you're asking for details... I've tried chown'ing
the devices to root (remember, I'm doing this as root to begin with),
but that doesn't make a difference. I've shut off all the automount and
autoplay stuff in Gnome, even though I run KDE. I recall there used to
be some sort of Automount thing in the .kde tree, but `find'ing and
`grep'ing doesn't yield anything useful. I'm really stuck on this one.
When I run the command in one window, I run fuser in another, and this
is all I see:
[root tyrannus root]# fuser -av /dev/scd0
USER PID ACCESS COMMAND
/dev/scd0 root 4433 f.... cdrecord
