Linksys WPC11 Freezing the laptop

I'm working with a wpc11 version 3 and it freezes my laptop.  it's hard
to track down, but it happened twice while trying to dowload an 8mb
file. and in top it looks like ksoftirqd_CPU was using 99% of the cpu
before it locked up.

Any Ideas?  I hoped that upgrading the firmware on the card would help,
but it was already up to date.
