I know this is going to sound really bizarre.. but, have you tried
upgrading the firmware on the access point?
yes, its true (at least for linksys access points).. I really didn't want
to disclose this on shrike-list, but..
it is possible to lock up a client computer with a faulty access point. (I
can prove it/ reproduce it even :(
