I used to see the SeekComplete error on every boot with Redhat 8.0 (I 
don't remember if it is still there with Redhat 9, and I am booted into 
some other OS at the moment.)  I'll try to remember to look at dmesg 
output for those errors when I next boot Redhat 9.

In my case the messages always referenced hdd which is a CD-RW (and 
always empty), so I just ignored the messages.  I also run smartd.  I 
never received any of these errors after Linux finished booting.  To me 
it seemed like a driver initialization problem.

Do these errors ever occur after the boot process is complete?  The fact 
that you see this error on your boot drive may mean that the error is 
not as harmless as I first thought.  My machine uses a Via KT333 chipset.
