I'm trying to connect to a mysql server on our local network from the
colocated one. And the server is responding with that error "can't
connect from www.sited.com". Which is correct, on the sql server we
don't allow the alias to connect, we just allow the *real* IP address
192.168.1.10.
I'm pretty sure this isn't a problem with mysql or our firewall because
the only change we made was an upgrade to redhat 9. It's not a critical
error and there is a workaround (just open up ports/access for the IP
address and it's aliases) but I'd still like to know what's going on.
