gnome-terminal perfomance??

lately for the work with psql, 
I create long sql script that I make in gedit first
then 
paste to gnome-terminal to get result (I know I can do
this with rhdb-admin too), 
but I noticed there's need some few seconds to paste
apps 2000 char to gnome-terminal(+-4 sec),
I also check with kde terminal and very fast to paste

I'm using shrike(latest errata) with 192 mb ram
(using 1024x769 res)
