I don't think that rawhide is something Red Hat wants to spend marketing-type resources on; it doesn't need its own URL when it's perfectly accessible to anyone the way it is. They don't *want* clueless newbies stumbling over it and accidentally upgrading to Rawhide things when they don't know what they're doing. I personally use http://redhat.dulug.duke.edu/ or one of the other full mirrors to access Rawhide, as the Red Hat FTP site is often slow or locked out due to too many users.
