CD-RW blues help

ok this is strange I installed 9 on my laptop from my cd-rw but now it will
not mount it there is an error of
Could not mount device
The Reported error was:
mount: special device /dev/cdrom does not exist

 Why would I be getting this error and how can I fix it or how can I go
about trouble shooting
