Upgrade error of glibc

If after a fresh install of rh9 I try to upgrade glibc to the latest
upgrade version (2.3.2-27.9) I get an error status. After that every
command I type at the command prompt results in a "Segmentation fault".
The screen messages are:
[root]# rpm -Fvh glibc-*.rpm
Preparing... ###################### [100%]
1:glibc-common ###################### [ 33%]
2:glibc ###################### [ 67%]
INIT: version 2.84 reloading
error: %post(glibc-2.3.2-27.9) scriptlet failed, exit status 121
3:glibc-devel ####################### [100%]
[root]# rpm
Segmentation fault
[root]#
I was able to reproduce this several times. Is this problem known to
anyone. Does anyone have a way how I can circumvent this problem and still
upgrade?
Regards, Koos.
