AW: AW: Problems with apt (db3 - db4)

I did that without a problem, but it seems not to be the problem, it still says:

 rpmdb: unable to join the environment
 error: db4 error(11) from dbenv->open:The ressource is temporary not
 avalible
 error: cannot open packages index using db3 - The ressource is temporary not avalible (11)
 E: cannot open rpm-database

I loaded the old kernel (2.4.20-8) and then the new (2.4.20-20.9)

Hi!

Its easy to fix:

boot with an old kernel (eg 2.4.20-8)
update rpm to 4.2-1 (download from ftp.rpm.org)
reboot with the your latest kernel and every thing works fine.
