mixing Shrike and Fedora

I'd like to get the 1.1 version of openoffice (included with the fedora distro) but
would like to avoid a full changeover to fedora until I can confirm that other thrid
party apps will work with it

Is there a way I can get oo.org 1.1 in a RH compatible rpm?

If it requires a number of dependancy upgrades, is there a way to apt-get it?
