I've run into a snag with esound and pcmcia.
Dell Latitude CPi
Crystal 4237b sound chipset
RH6.1 + current patches
I used sndconfig to setup the sound and if I don't load pcmcia services
the sounds in and out of gnome work fine. But, when I load pcmcia then
an IRQ/DMA conflict occurs even if there is no card installed at the
time. I have excluded all of the resources that the sound uses from
being used by pcmcia. At this point there is a conflict, if I run
sndconfig and test the card all seems well, after doing this i can kill
esd and restart it and esd no longer has a conflict. I've not been able
to find a hint of how I might be able to resolve the problem after about
a week of searching. If anyone has this problem or a possible
workaround I'd love to hear about it.
David
