ensoniq 1371

I am running redhat 6.1. and I have an ensoniq sound card in my system. The
confusing issue is the module for the card loads, there is no IRQ conflict but
when I run like sndconfig, the systems probes the souncard but when it tries to
play a sample sound it just sits there, nothing happens. Does anyone have any
suggestions
